Invitation to the Packard Meet in Finland July 2- 4, 2010
The town of Hyvinkää is ideally located a one-hour drive from Helsinki. Our meeting will be headquartered at Hotel Rantasipi Sveitsi neighbouring a beautiful National Park www.rantasipi.fi.
It will be organized as a two-day meet starting Friday and finishing Sunday. On Friday check-in time is between noon and 2 p.m. but we will have access to the exclusive Packard parking area from 9 a.m.
There will be time to meet other participants and take it easy until to 3 p.m. when we will make a trip to the local Railway Museum. The working groups of the Club will meet at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m. a buffet style dinner will be served in the dining room of the hotel. If our predictions are not completely wrong, the Packard parking area will then be an irresistable draw until late night.
On Saturday breakfast will be served before our traditional Annual Meeting which everybody is invited to attend. At 11 a.m. we start preparing for our countryside tour. Our cars will receive a final check-up and made ready for the starting line-up. We will be driving in convoys of four cars, - each convoy headed by a local car. Our trip will take us to the Koff Brewery which dates back to 1819 founded by the legendary brewer Paul Sinebrychoff. Our lunch will be served by the lake Tuusulanjärvi at Restaurant Krapihovi www.krapi.fi. These shores once housed several renowned artists, e.g. composer Jean Sibelius. After lunch, we will return to our hotel on an individual basis. A Swap Meet will be organised in the parking area and at 19 p.m. refreshments will be served before the climax - our annual NPOC banquet. That just about concludes the formal arrangements, but we would not be surprised if the sheltered Packard parking area ance again would be an alluring alternative to hitting the sack.
Sunday morning breakfast may be followed by a trip to the Teknos paint factory at nearby Rajamäki www.teknos.fi. Rooms can be kept until noon and the parking area is available until 3 p.m. This schedule should meet the needs of our guests returning by ferry from Helsinki or Turku.
